Other options can include purchasing an inflatable hail protection system or a car hail blanket. These investments will have a long-term payoff as they can be used for years to come.

In San Antonio and the surrounding areas, we have a high volume of construction on our roads. Construction zones result in loose gravel and rocks that can be disturbed by vehicles driving. The best way to avoid damage to your windshield from this debris is to keep a safe distance from other vehicles when driving. Although this does not guarantee a rock or other debris will not hit your windshield, this precaution will decrease the likelihood of damage.
Highways tend to be better maintained, but debris can still be present on your drive. This is most apparent when you are going under an overpass. Vehicles driving on the overpass can cause rocks, wood or other damaging items to fall on the vehicles below. When this happens, your car, truck or SUV's windshield can sustain a chip or crack. If this happens, contact a glass repair company immediately. Continuing to drive with a repairable chip or crack in your windshield can cause the damage to spread; once this happens, a repair may no longer be possible, and a full windshield replacement will be required. Extreme temperatures and higher speed on roads can increase the probability of the chip or crack spreading over time.
